Every year, Elyse's elementary school does their version of American Idol called Hemmetter Idol. The kids compete in three separate rounds with cuts after each one. Three kids from each grade are finally selected to sing in front of the school at an assembly where they can win a bronze, silver, or gold medal. Elyse was really excited this year because she made it to the final round with her very best friend Michelle. Elyse took bronze and Michelle took silver. The girls proudly displayed their medals after school for us. Elyse tells us she's going to try out every year even if she gets cut next time. (She sang a country song this year--hence the cowboy hat.) Wahoo Elyse! Way to go!
