The day Jarom smashed his thumb, we were up north at a Pirate Festival. Actually, it was kind of lame, but the kids had a great time. They followed a map to different activities like shoveling in sand to find gold coins, making a pirate hat, coloring a sword, etc. Then you have to pitch in the extra bucks to try the bow and arrows, catapults, and knives. But they had a couple of free shows about pirate lingo, how to use a whip, and other exciting boy stuff. Paul and Luke wore their Halloween costumes from last year and talked like pirates the entire one hour and twenty minute drive it took to reach the festival.
